Dear Shuguang and Fang,
Thank you for the greetings, indeed time flies and Thanksgiving is only a few days away, we will have a nice traditional celebration with Martin and us at home.
We would have loved to have you and your wife here with us! Maybe next time?!
Indeed your friend and colleague Mr. Li stopped by today. It was so nice to meet them, they stepped in for a few minutes, including his wife and his son (Michael), then left with Martin to have lunch at a Chinese restaurant, in Danbury. A few hours later they brought Martin back home, Martin was happy to catch up with his friend Michael.
This is after yesterday when we all were invited at a Thanksgiving Lunch in Norwalk, by Annie Kong from NESC. We had lunch with other students and host parents at a Chinese restaurant Wild Rice, 30 minutes driving from Ridgefield. Martin made some new friends there and had a good time too.
We also enjoyed the delicious Chinese food and connected with other host parents from the area.
Last Monday I and Martin attended a college application process- information session for freshmen. It touched on what students need to do and not do, in order to prepare themselves for college admissions, activities and actions that improve their chances to be accepted to the colleges they apply to, and also what actions might reduce those chances.
This is in addition to getting good grades and SAT(ACT) scores, and academic challenge.
And this is just the beginning, more information sessions, college visits, college guidance will follow, Martin will be closely guided to achieve his full potential in the following 4 years of high school and get ready for applying to a top college too.
Now that 1st trimester is over the grades will be issued soon, and that will show more light on Martin's school performance. I know how important that information is for you, and for us too, as we all want Martin to succeed. Based on the teacher’s feedback, the outcome should be good. Again we thank you for the greetings and at our end we wish you good health and a happy holiday season.
